Mountain West Christmas with Kendall Flint & Ron Blacken (2003)

Tappin’ The Earth’s Backbone (2002)

$15.00The storysongs spring from the eastern slope of the Rockies bordering the Blackfeet Indian reservation. A somber highlight is the haunting “Sometimes Eagles,” a ballad of heroism, sacrifice, and tragedy stemming from aerial combat over Nazi Germany in WWII. “Tappin the Backbone” is a phrase that, according to Jack, can be interpreted several ways. “We tap the Earth when we walk and dance. We tap into something for deeper understanding. Tappin’  the Backbone implies we are reaching for a deeper awareness of our being -- physically, emotionally, and spiritually.”

Buffalo Cafe (1997)

$15.00Jack’s all time best selling album chronicles the Northwestern Plains from the “long ago time” into the Glory Days of the Plains Indian, and finally, through the sunset of the Buffalo Days in the 1880’s. Blackfeet Storysmith - Wally Gladstone with Jack Gladstone (2005)

This 2 CD epic set, told by my late father, chronicles his odyssey from the Blackfeet Indian reservation to government boarding school, to combat in WWII then to eventual re-union with relatives and homeland. I contribute musical soundtrack, 3 new songs and interpretive commentary to help the listener grasp the historical and global reach of my dad’s experiences. “Blackfeet Storysmith” is an inspirational template for the oral history movement.

Odyssey West, with Rob Quist (2003)

This is the compilation soundtrack Rob and Jack assembled for the Lewis and Clark bicentennial. Three new co-authored songs unite with 12 others to provide poetic and musical color to the canvas of this historical “story” of U. S. discovery. Also featured on this enhanced CD is a bonus music video “America... Pass It On”, the official song of the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation.

Buffalo Republic (2000)

The sequel to Buffalo Cafe with ten songs providing melodic snapshots of people, events and legends as Jack chronicles the transformation of U.S. Western culture. Well equipped with the tools of lyrical poetry, Gladstone musically examines the irony, contradictions, humor and consequential impacts of Manifest Destiny.

Noble Heart (1995)

Stories honoring the endurance of the proud individual spirit. Central to this album are epics dedicated to Jim Thorp (“Bright Path”), Fort Benton’s famous vigilant canine “Old Shep”, and “Navajo Code Talkers”. The themes are sacrifice, self-actualization, love of sport and homeland, and the powerful bonds of friendship.

Buckskin Poet Society (1992)

A projection into serious mytho-poetic subjects, heavily inspired by Jack’s first exposure to mythologist, Joseph Campbell. This collection is considered by Jack’s listeners to be a sentimental favorite.

A live recording, and mostly acoustic, with the first commercially available two track digital recording deck. The album is conspicuous for both its simplicity of production and clarity in delivery. Released originally on cassette.

Wolves on Sea & Plain (1988)

Jack’s debut album recorded in Seattle and Reno with a folk, country, pop, and rock feel. Big Production. My daughter Mariah’s favorite CD. “Wolves on Sea” traces an ill fated Arctic voyage to discover the northwest passage. “Wolves on Plain” illustrates the American-West from barn dances, drunken cowboys, Custer’s Last Stand, to a Girl who married Morning Star.
