Legends and Lore of the Northern Plains

Buffalo Stew - A Live Spoken Word Album We call it "Meaty Morsels of Narrative Seasoned with Story and Song." It captures Jacks clever analogies, thought provoking historical narrative and "classic" stories. It is the closest thing to listening to a concert as we could get. This is a great album for educators, history buffs or anyone who wants to know more of the background on Jack's songs. Topics include tricksters, wolves, primal spirituality, the horse, fur trade, Louisiana Purchase and the Lewis and Clark Expedition, John Colter, American Fur Company, whiskey trade, Battle of the Little Bighorn, oral tradition and Charlie Russell. Song excerpts are from Jack's existing albums and include a verse or chorus from each song. "Buffalo Stew" CDs come packaged in a cardboard sleeve (much like the old LP covers) or in a double CD set with "Buffalo Cafe."

CREDITS

Oki Napi (Hello Friend),
I frequently hear comments from listeners of my music that the live performance experiences are much richer in meaning, because of the song introductions and commentary on the subjects addressed.  In the spring of 1998, I simply left the tape recorder running at my shows.  This project is an edited collection of my favorite moments.  I hope you find these comments to be informative, entertaining and inspirational.  (Jack).
