"Buffalo Cafe" Chronicles the West
"Come gather 'round me, young and old
Girls and boys, there'll be stories told
About the land that taught us to talk
With Mother's hand, we'll learn to walk.
Travel back in time to the last ice age
With the Sun's Creation fully engaged
Spirits and heroes, tricksters and fools
There's something for everyone
I now anoint this play the Buffalo Cafe."
So begins Jack's fifth album "Buffalo Cafe." The album chronicles
the West from "the long ago time" through the Glory Days of the Plains
Indians. With a choice blend of mythic and historic metaphor, Jack once again
presents history from his unique perspective - seasoned delicately with humor
and satire.

Nine new originals on the album include the title track, Buffalo Cafe;
Napi Becomes a Wolf, a tale of man-into-wolf transformation; Faces the
Blizzard, a tribute to the American bison; With the Coming of the Horse,
how the horse revolutionized Plains Indian culture; The Interpreter, the
heroic "high plains matador of metaphor;" Whoop-Up Trail, a
stirring account of international frontier drug-running by the founding fathers
of Montana; When the Land Belonged to God, a symphonic anthem honoring
C.M. Russell; and The Rose of Ft. MacLeod, a song about unrequited love.
Lewis and Clark Rag, a humorous song about the Lewis and Clark
Expedition was written by Montana State University English Professor and
talented songwriter, Greg Keeler. "

The Whoop-Up Trail in Southern Alberta, more than 100 years after it was
last used wagon ruts are still visable along the trail.
Buffalo Cafe" highlights Jack's charismatic vocals and guitar skills.
Accompanied by the familiar sounds of gifted multi-instrumentalist David
Griffith and creative percussionist Scott Powell, the album also features
talented studio musicians from Lubbock and Austin.
The "chief" of operations on the project was award winning producer
Lloyd Maines, based in Lubbock, Texas. The target release date is July 7, 1997,
so mark your calendars! Or, better yet, see our special for early orders.
