BUCKSKIN POETSONGS
Complete Original Recordings
1988 thru 2004
MP3 Format
MORE INFORMATION
This album contains over 100 of Jack's songs in mp3 format, ready to be loaded
onto your iPod, played on your computer, or any other mp3 player. The CD
contains songs from 11 different albums, ranging from 1988 to 2004. Over
seven hours of listening pleasure.
For those who are interested in
learning more about Jack's musicology, we have added
the lyrics of all of Jack's original songs directly on the CDROM.
The lyrics are formatted with indents to indicate the rhyming scheme and musical
structures, e.g. bridges.
Some Technical Details:
The CDROM is designed to run on a
computer with Internet Explorer (or other net browser) and automatically
presents a menu: (1) To Listen to the songs, (2) To view the Lyrics as a
web page, or (3) To view and print the lyrics from pdf files. If the user
selects to listen, then the default player (such as Windows Media Player) is
started and opens a playlist. (If your media player does not open the
playlist automatically, make sure the media player is set to open files with the
extension of .m3u ) .
If the user selects to view the
lyrics as on a web site, then the default Internet Browser brings up a page to
select the song of interest. If the user selects to use the pdf format, a
default pdf viewer must be installed and will automatically bring up the song
selection page. (Note that a free pdf viewer is available from a link at
the top of the PDF format page. You must be connected to the Internet to
download this free viewer from Adobe.)
To load the mp3 songs to a portable
player, you must use the software provided to load your particular mp3 player.
(Itunes is an example for use with Ipod.) Import the playlist found in the
top level directory of the CDROM. Portable CDROM players which are
designed to play mp3 songs (e.g. in new cars) will load the playlist automatically when the CDROM
is inserted or will scan the CDROM for all mp3 files. The files on the
CDROM are in the same order as the playlist.

BLACKFEET STORYSMITH

My father was the finest story teller imaginable. He
lived the stories he told. This 2-CD, 2 1/2 hour epic
set, chronicles the early chapters of my father's odyssey.
Entertaining and informative, Dad's precise memory provides an outline for
understanding both 19th and 20th century Blackfeet/American culture.
In "Storysmith", I strategically position "Jack's Tracks",
an interpretive commentary guiding the listener through Dad's
odyssey. Enhancing this collection are soundtrack excerpts from my
recorded works, as well as four newly recorded songs. Introducing
the album is a haunting arrangement of two of my father's favorite
songs, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", and
"What a Wonderful World". This is truly the most unique
project I've ever been called upon to do. -- Jack Gladstone
